Naveen Sunder

I am an applied microeconomist working on health, development, and the economics of education. I study how early-life conditions shape long-run health, human capital, and economic outcomes, using quasi-experimental methods and large administrative and survey datasets.

My work spans health insurance and child mortality, the long-run consequences of medical innovation, education and mental health, the intergenerational effects of schooling, and the behavioral determinants of health decisions. Much of it is set in low- and middle-income countries, including China, India, Madagascar, Senegal, Tanzania, and Uganda.

Before Bentley I was a postdoctoral research fellow at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. I completed my Ph.D. in Economics at Cornell University.
